Whipped Tallow Balm with EO's

Updated: 6 days ago

Nourish Your Skin Naturally — God’s Way

In a world overflowing with chemical-filled lotions and creams, it’s refreshing to return to simple, natural skincare — the way God designed it. One of my favorite all-natural moisturizers is whipped tallow balm, a deeply nourishing, old-fashioned remedy that leaves your skin smooth, radiant, and toxin-free.

🌿 What Is Tallow?

Tallow is rendered beef fat, rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K, and remarkably similar in composition to the oils our own skin produces. This makes it highly absorbable, balancing and hydrating even the most sensitive skin. When whipped with essential oils, it transforms into a luxurious balm that heals, softens, and protects your skin from the inside out.

✨ Benefits of Whipped Tallow

  • Deep Moisturization: Mimics your skin’s natural sebum, creating a barrier that locks in hydration without clogging pores.

  • Nutrient-Rich: Packed with fat-soluble vitamins that support skin repair and elasticity.

  • Anti-Inflammatory: Naturally soothes conditions like eczema, psoriasis, and dry patches.

  • Gentle for All Skin Types: Safe for babies, dry skin, and even acne-prone skin.

  • Toxin-Free: No synthetic fragrances, parabens, or preservatives—just pure goodness.

💧 Essential Oils to Add

Adding essential oils not only enhances the scent but also amplifies the balm’s benefits. Here are a few of my favorite blends:

🌸 Calming + Restorative

  • Lavender

  • Frankincense

  • Roman Chamomile

🌿 Healing + Purifying

  • Tea Tree

  • Geranium

  • Myrrh

🍋 Bright + Uplifting

  • Lemon

  • Grapefruit

  • Wild Orange

🧴 Soothing for Sensitive Skin

  • Copaiba

  • Frankincense

  • Cedarwood

(Always use Certified Pure Tested Grade® essential oils, like doTERRA, to ensure safety and purity.)

🥣 DIY Whipped Tallow Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup beef tallow (rendered and strained)

  • ¼ cup doTERRA caster oil, olive oil, jojoba, or sweet almond oil

  • 10–15 drops essential oils of choice

  • Optional: 1 tsp beeswax for a firmer balm

Instructions:

  1. Melt: In a double boiler, gently melt the tallow and carrier oil together until fully liquid. (5 min)

  2. Cool: Carefully remove the bowl from the double boiler. Let the mixture sit until it’s slightly opaque but not solid (room temperature 30 - 60 min).

  3. Whip: Using a hand mixer, whip the mixture until light and fluffy — like whipped butter!

  4. Add Oils: Drop in your essential oils and continue whipping for another 30 seconds.

  5. Store: Scoop into a glass jar or tin and label it. Store in a cool, dry place.

🌼 How to Use It

  • Apply to dry hands, feet, elbows, or any area needing extra love.

  • Use as an overnight face balm — especially during winter.

  • Apply to minor scrapes, rashes, or chapped skin for natural healing.

  • Perfect as a belly balm for expecting mamas or a baby-safe moisturizer (use lavender only).

🙏 A Faithful Reminder

When we choose to nourish our bodies with what God created—simple, pure ingredients from His earth—we invite healing and restoration in the most natural way. Every time you use your tallow balm, take a moment to thank Him for providing everything we need for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3).
