Homemade Spaghetti & Meatballs by Katie

Hi friends! It’s Katie Bug 👋


Today I made a SUPER yummy dinner—homemade spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread! And guess what? We made almost everything from scratch!

🍝 Why This Meal Is Special


This wasn’t just regular spaghetti… we made:


homemade meatballs

homemade marinara sauce

AND garlic bread


It made me feel like a real chef 😄


🛒 What We Used


🥩 Meatballs:


  • Ground beef

  • Saltine crackers (crushed)

  • 2 eggs

  • Seasonings

  • Dried oregano

  • 🌿 doTERRA Oregano essential oil (just a tiny bit!)

  • 🧂 Kinder’s The Blend seasoning


🍅 Sauce:


Tomato paste

Diced tomatoes (1 can)

Water

Seasonings


🍞 Garlic Bread:


Baguette

Melted butter

Garlic powder

Onion powder

Parsley

Parmesan cheese


👩‍🍳 How We Made It


🥩 Meatballs (The Fun Part!)


We mixed everything together in a bowl, including our seasonings, dried oregano, a tiny bit of oregano essential oil, and Kinder’s The Blend (which made them smell AMAZING!).


Then we rolled them into little balls and did something really cool:


👉 We baked them in a mini muffin tin

👉 At 450°F for 7 minutes


BUT… we learned an important lesson 😳🔥


Some grease dripped out of the muffin tin and hit the oven burner… and we had a small fire!


👉 Lesson learned: ALWAYS put a cookie sheet under the muffin tin to catch any grease drips.


(Everything turned out okay, but it definitely got our attention!)


🍅 Homemade Sauce


We made our own marinara sauce!


We mixed:


tomato paste

diced tomatoes

water

seasonings


Then let it simmer while the meatballs finished cooking. It smelled SO good!


🍞 Garlic Bread


We took a baguette and spread melted butter on top, then added:


garlic powder

onion powder

parsley

Parmesan cheese


Then baked it at 450°F for 7 minutes until it was crispy and golden.


🍽️ Putting It All Together


We put the spaghetti in a bowl, added our homemade sauce and meatballs on top, and served it with garlic bread.


And YES… I dipped my bread in the sauce 😋


💛 Katie’s Tips

  • Mini muffin tins make PERFECT meatballs

  • Put a cookie sheet underneath (trust me 😅🔥)

  • A little essential oil goes a long way 🌿

  • Homemade sauce is actually really easy!

  • Garlic bread makes everything better

This dinner made me feel like a real chef in my own kitchen!


Even with a little kitchen excitement 😄🔥


Everything tasted so fresh and yummy, and my whole family loved it.
