From House to Home

This past week was full of moments that reminded us just how much God has been weaving our family together—little by little, moment by moment, grace upon grace.

On Friday, Sis graduated from kindergarten. Watching her walk across that stage at her school was such a special moment. The smiles, the excitement, the proud little grin—it was a beautiful celebration of how far she has come in such a short time. The school did such a wonderful job making the day feel meaningful and memorable.

That same evening, we celebrated Buddy turning 5 with a birthday party full of laughter, sunshine, and new friendships. There were around 25 people there, including 13 kids, and the yard was absolutely alive with energy. Kids ran outside playing games, visiting the chickens, chasing the dogs, and simply enjoying being kids. It felt loud and joyful in the very best way.

There was something healing about looking outside and seeing children laughing together in the sunshine.

Then Tuesday evening brought another sweet moment for our family—the girls’ Spring Concert. The girls did wonderful, but one of the moments that made everyone smile came after the concert had already ended. As people were beginning to leave, Buddy grabbed the microphone and enthusiastically started singing Goodness of God with all his little heart.

And honestly, it fit the moment perfectly.

Because that’s exactly what this season has been reminding us of: the goodness of God.

Before the night ended, Buddy also wanted to pray over everyone. Standing there with complete confidence and joy, he prayed into the microphone and blessed the crowd in the simple, sincere way only a child can. It was one of those moments you can’t plan for—but one you never forget.

As we continue growing together as a family, we’re realizing something beautiful:

It’s starting to feel like home.

Not because everything is perfect. Not because every day is easy. But because love is growing here. Trust is growing here. Joy is growing here. God is growing something in all of us together.

And in the middle of birthday candles, concerts, muddy shoes, barking dogs, chicken feathers, and children singing worship songs into microphones—we can see His hand in it all.

Sometimes home isn’t built in the quiet moments.

Sometimes it’s built in the loud, messy, beautiful ones.

And that’s when God winked—turning ordinary struggles into extraordinary miracles.
