Have you ever been told to “drink more water,” yet still felt tired, foggy, or dehydrated? You might be missing a key ingredient — sodium.

Our bodies need adequate sodium to help the water we drink actually hydrate our cells. Without it, water can pass right through us, leading to dehydration and a host of uncomfortable symptoms.
When we don’t consume enough sodium, our bodies dump potassium, causing muscle cramps, twitches, heart palpitations, and even symptoms often mistaken for “keto flu.” Replacing potassium alone only masks the problem — it doesn’t fix the root cause.
⚡ Signs of Low Sodium
A lack of sodium can cause:
Brain fog and blurry vision
Nausea or mood swings
Water retention and heavy-feeling legs
Headaches and lethargy
Cravings and extreme thirst
Sound familiar? The good news is, there’s a simple and natural way to restore balance — Solé (pronounced so-lay).
🫧 What Is Solé?
Solé is a saturated saltwater solution that delivers sodium to the body in a gentle, highly absorbable form. It’s easier on the stomach than stirring salt directly into water — and far more affordable than pre-mixed electrolyte drinks.
Here’s how to make it:
Fill a wide-mouthed glass jar (with a plastic lid) about ¼ full with natural, non-iodized salt (like Himalayan or Redmond Real Salt).
Add filtered water, leaving about an inch of space at the top.
Let it sit overnight. The next morning, check that the liquid is clear and there are still undissolved salt crystals at the bottom. If all the salt has dissolved, add more and let it sit again.
Once fully saturated, each tablespoon of Solé contains about 1,434 mg of sodium. Because of its natural antifungal and antibacterial properties, it lasts indefinitely at room temperature — no refrigeration needed.
🥄 How to Use Solé
Use a plastic spoon or scoop (metal can rust or react with the sodium).
Here’s what I do:
Every morning, I take 2 tablespoons of Solé in a small amount of water.
I also add 2 tablespoons to my water bottle and sip throughout the day.
During heavy work or summer heat, I’ll refill again — sometimes twice!
Along with Solé, I also take 400–600 mg of magnesium glycinate before bed. These two minerals work beautifully together to support energy, hydration, and restful sleep.
💡 I aim for a minimum of 5,000 mg of supplemented sodium daily — sometimes more, depending on activity level and weather.
⚠️ Start Slowly!
Sodium is powerful — especially for digestion. Too much too soon can lead to what I lovingly call “disaster pants.”
Start with 1 teaspoon of Solé in a little water, two or three times a day, and gradually increase as your body adjusts.
💧 Why It Matters
I’ve been helping people eat and live this way for over eight years, and the number one reason people struggle long-term is because they underestimate the importance of electrolytes.
Hydration isn’t just about drinking water — it’s about keeping the balance God designed between sodium, potassium, and magnesium.
